The Training Scale is the foundation of working horses and a great resource when you find yourself not connecting with your horse under saddle. When in training and we encounter resistance from our horses, (assuming there are no medical reasons) go back to the training scale and plug the holes to see what is missing, and what needs to be addressed before asking for more.
