Patrick
Born and raised in Germany, Patrick began riding at seven, competing in dressage and training horses through the higher levels of the sport. A strong advocate of the German Classical Training Scale, his approach is grounded in the correct, systematic and thoughtful development of both horse and rider.
Patrick has worked with horses ranging from young prospects to Grand Prix and trained with Dorte Christensen and German Paralympic gold medalist Hannelore Brenner. His continued education has included clinics with internationally recognized riders including Isabell Werth and Ingrid Klimke, along with ongoing lessons with Amelie von Harsdorf and Christoph Hess, while maintaining close relationships with riders, trainers, and sales stables across Europe.
His professional background in Occupational Therapy further informs his understanding of balance, movement and physical development.
Today, Patrick oversees the training program at Concord, working with horses in development, students and European imports. He travels regularly to Europe with Joan, bringing his training experience to the evaluation and selection of horses for clients and the sales program. He also works alongside Joan in the ongoing development and business operations of Concord Equine and Haus of Concord.

Joan
Joan’s equestrian journey began in New Jersey, where a family interest in horses quickly developed into a deeper commitment to the sport. In 2015, she began training with FEI dressage rider and trainer Maggie McGuire, developing a strong appreciation for dressage and the principles of the German Training Scale.
A later move to Denmark immersed Joan and her family in the European equestrian lifestyle, where they owned and developed sport horses while gaining first-hand experience within the European horse market. Returning to North America with their European and American horses, the family settled in Ontario and established Concord Equine.
Today, Joan oversees the business operations and development of Concord Equine and Haus of Concord. She travels regularly to Europe with Patrick, working together in the evaluation and selection of sport horses for clients and the sales program while maintaining relationships with riders, trainers and sales stables across Europe and North America.
Joan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and has a professional background in banking, investments and business management. Her experience across both the equestrian and business worlds brings an international and practical perspective to the continued development of Concord and Haus of Concord.
